Welcome, University of Pittsburgh Faculty and Staff

Falk scholarships, worth up to one-quarter tuition, are available to dependent children of regular full-time faculty, librarians, and staff of the University of Pittsburgh.

All staff members, as well as faculty members who have recently transitioned from part-time to full-time status, are subject to a 12-month waiting period. Children of University employees are admitted through the regular admissions process. Applications are accepted on a rolling basis throughout the year, with kindergarten applications due in early December.

Please note: It is the responsibility of the parents or guardians to determine their eligibility for tuition remission.

Families are encouraged to reach out to the Benefits Department to determine their eligibility prior to the time when admissions decisions are communicated, particularly if access to the dependent scholarship would be a factor in the family’s decision to attend Falk. Inquiries to the Office of Human Resources (OHR) to request eligibility determination can be made through the OHR contact form.

Falk's administration will verify eligibility with the Benefits Department prior to the first tuition billing. At that time, the Benefits Department will review the determining employment factors to verify if the employee is eligible for the dependent scholarship. Falk Laboratory School is notified of the approved eligibility by the Benefits Department, and if an employee is deemed as ineligible, an explanation is provided to the school.

As you explore Falk Laboratory School, please feel free to email us  with any questions you may have. We are always happy to help!
